Susan Gane was born in Johannesburg South
Africa descended from English and Irish stock and is now in her sixites.
She has lived in London for over thirty years, at first sharing a
series of apartments in the inner suburbs, living in West Kensington
(the wrong side of the tracks from wealthy and fashionable
Kensington), Kilburn, Highgate, Clapham and Wandsworth.
Susan is single, and interested in walking,
literature and history. She has re-read all of Dickens novels and is a member of the Dickens
Fellowship, the London Society
and the Friends of the City
Churches.
She has an MA in Victorian Studies from Birkbeck, London University, and is
an expert in the history of the East End, a
qualified City of London Guide and an associate member of the
Institute of
